Brain Branded’s Summer Tech Empowerment Program Recap

At Brain Branded Edtech, we recently had the pleasure of hosting a transformative Summer Tech Empowerment Program for 50 talented and enthusiastic kids! Here’s a glimpse into the incredible journey of innovation, learning, and fun.

Program Highlights:

🎓 What We Taught:

Our program focused on empowering young minds with essential digital skills, coding fundamentals, and creative problem-solving. From foundational coding concepts to hands-on Scratch projects, every session was crafted to inspire curiosity and spark a love for technology.

🎒 Class Sessions and Assignments:

Each day brought exciting class sessions, where kids immersed themselves in coding challenges, robotics adventures, and interactive education activities. Assignments ranged from coding exercises to collaborative projects, fostering teamwork and creativity.

Our classes were conducted twice on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the month of August from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Each class always has its own icebreaker before the real class commence and the children were actively participating both online and in-person.

Our classes were carefully divided into 2 groups. Opal (5 – 9 years) and Topaz (10 years and above) Classes.

🌈 Impact on Children:

• Enhanced problem-solving skills: The program’s emphasis on coding and creative problem-solving equipped the children with the ability to approach challenges systematically and develop innovative solutions. They learned to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable steps, fostering a growth mindset and resilience in the face of obstacles.
• Boosted creativity and self-expression: The exploration of various digital tools, such as Canva and Scratch, unleashed the children’s creativity and provided them with avenues for self-expression. They discovered new ways to communicate their ideas, collaborate with peers, and bring their imagination to life.
• Nurtured teamwork and collaboration: The collaborative nature of the program’s projects and activities fostered a sense of teamwork and cooperation among the children. They learned to work effectively together, communicate their ideas clearly, and appreciate the value of diverse perspectives.
• Developed a deeper understanding of technology: The program provided the children with a comprehensive understanding of technology, not just as tools for consumption but also as platforms for innovation and creativity. They gained insights into the potential of technology to solve real-world problems and make a positive impact on society.

📚 Curriculum Used:

Our carefully curated curriculum seamlessly integrated industry-relevant content with engaging interactive sessions, ensuring a comprehensive and stimulating learning experience. The program encompassed a diverse range of skills, from mastering Scratch programming to crafting creative designs using Canva. Data analytics was introduced through hands-on exercises in Microsoft Excel, while typing skills were honed through speed challenges that tracked progress over the weeks. The children also demonstrated remarkable proficiency in document creation using Microsoft Word. Every aspect of the curriculum was meticulously designed to foster a holistic understanding of technology and its multifaceted applications.

Final Projects

Culminating a summer of immersive learning, our young tech enthusiasts showcased their newfound skills through a series of captivating final projects. The Topaz class, with their minds set on speed and precision, designed and developed exhilarating car race games, each with its unique twists and turns. Meanwhile, the Opal class navigated their creative compass, crafting intricate maze games that challenged both logic and spatial reasoning. The air crackled with excitement as the children presented their projects to their peers and mentors, sharing their journey of learning and innovation.
